Principal's Message
Greetings Lanier-James Education Center Community,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! I am Michelle Laurent, honored to serve as the principal of Lanier-James Education Center (LJEC). After the warm welcome I received last year from our phenomenal community, I am energized and committed to building on the progress we’ve made together.
As we begin this new school year, my priority is to work in close partnership with families, faculty, and community members to positively impact the lives of our scholars. Together, we will continue creating personalized educational pathways that meet the diverse needs of our learners—ensuring that every scholar’s potential aligns with a meaningful path forward.
At LJEC, we believe in the power of redemption and the possibility of change. That’s why we embrace the B.R.A.V.E. Knights’ way, which focuses on Behavior, Reflection, Academics, Value, and Excellence. Our mission is to accelerate, enrich, and empower every scholar to make healthy choices, reflect on their growth, and rise to their fullest potential. Though the path to redemption may be challenging, it is always possible—and we are here to walk it together. This year, we are embracing a laser-like focus on gratitude, cultivating a school culture where every member of our community can experience the best of our scholars. Strong partnerships between school and families are essential to our success.
